After the time I saw Solange Konwles rocking that H&M Studio over sized glittery black suit, I have been fancying a similar suit. Soon after, there goes Rihanna for her Grammy performance in a Margiela black suit to turn my fancy to obsession. I looked everywhere possible to find something similar but also reasonably priced for months with no success. Then I hit my own closet at an attempt to create the look. I found this old H&M blazer and Max Studio wide leg pants that kinda sorta will do till I lay my hands on those Margiela’s or realistically speaking till Zara knocks the hell out of it
Also If you follow me on Instagram you probably noticed that I launched my online jewelry store. This was a dream that I had flirted with for a long time and it has now come to reality. I am still on cloud nine from how well it was received. I am forever grateful to all the people that contributed to bring this dream to reality. Stay tuned for even more exciting collaborations and new arrivals.

I have a tendency to be mildly obsessed with certain things and I sometimes take it a little too far. In the past I obsessively collected Kimonos, Jumpsuits and Capes but lately its all about furs. I feel like fur adds a little bit of drama to any outfit which is always a plus. Needless to talk about how I am so into this vintage fringe dress and these bad ass Margiela’s.

I really wanted to capture the vintage mood all the way through so I wore this soft and whimsical vintage dress with a faux fur shrug I seem to be slightly obsessed with.

And I went for the cheesy birthday picture with balloons and all
Bracelet: FROM UPCOMING COLLECTION
I wanted to do a fun shoot with this lovely Karmann Ghia since we got this baby as a wedding gift. What better time to take it out than our birthday—I say ‘our’ because I launched my blog last year on my birthday so that I can double up the celebration every year. The past year has been an amusing journey for both me and my blog; from moving to a new city (this part was challenging) to meeting with great people through the blog; to working through a business idea that has been brewing for quite some time coming near to life. I would say it was an action packed year with nothing less of highs and lows. I am hopeful the coming year will be even more adventures with a lot of unknowns to conquer as l learned life is filled with lots of surprises.
I can’t believe it’s been already a year since I started my blog well 2 weeks shy for the blog to turn big 1. When I was contemplating to start my own blog back in a days and do some research about it, everyone used to say the people you meet through blogging is invaluable for one because you meet people with the same interest and draw inspiration from one another. I couldn’t agree more.
I met people that are inspiring, supportive and people I call friends through this medium that I can never take for granted. It is also interesting to see people I never met and only knew from social media root for me and support me in this journey and conversely the lack of support from the people I knew for many years was equally surprising. Well as the saying goes live and learn.
I will come out and admit I could have done more to take my blog to the next level. And that’s the goal I set for my blog this year. Be consistent, be creative in outfit posts and reach out and collaborate with likeminded people. I am also in the last phase of launching an online business that carries exotic handmade jewelries and I am hopeful that will give me an opportunity to inspire my readers and push me to do more. Lastly I want to take this opportunity to thank people that help me promote my blog like Fashion Bomb Daily, Curl Box, and one of my favorite blogger Simply Cyn and many more. To be recognized by you all was beyond heartwarming and encouraging. I am so humbled and grateful for the love you have shown me.

It appears there is no escaping from the major comeback of the 90's trend. The choker, the grungy plaid, the crop top,the overall and what is instantly becoming everyone's favorite; the double denim better yet triple denim trend is making a huge comeback. It is also worth mentioning the loose fit jeans and the over sizing trend is one that I am completely in love with. mainly because it means that I get to raid my husbands closet for some of his old and not so old stuff. hence the chambray shirt and the denim jacket is from his closet. Who remembers when 7 Jeans, Joe's and True religion had us believe you need that distinct stamp on your jeans to be cool. I clearly remember taking out the Levis logo from all my jeans so that people don't recognize my denim- now its all about Levis 501's and 504's with all its glorious logo and comfortable fit.

High waist-ed/wide leg pants are one that I will never let go regardless of its being on trend or not you can say I’m stuck in that 70’s ABBA look and I will gladly admit. I know this silhouette is not everyone’s cup of tea- and sometimes they even tend to be unflattering if not paired carefully. But if paired right, they tend to elongate legs- where my short girls at also tend to slim waist hence my obsession with them. I have quite a collection of vintage and non vintage pieces. Though I rather wear my denim and care free clothes most of the time; I like to wear this suit when I want to be semi formal. I like how the wide leg/high waist-ed pant gives a touch of playfulness to the look which I love since most suit tend to give this intense professional vibe that I am not so much into. Now the weather is cooling off, I am excited to bust out my vintage fur coat. I also love how it helps to emphasize the retro in this look.

The weather in Dallas is finally cooling off and I couldn’t be more excited to bust out this favorite thrift-ed cape. I am also thrilled to share some good news. The idea I entertained for a lonnnnnng long time is almost coming to life. I am launching an online store that carries hand made brass, nickel and wood jewelries all made in Ethiopia. I sincerely enjoyed hand picking pieces that are unpretentious yet funky that speaks to my aesthetic. The pieces range from distressed nickle cuff to a vibrant wood bangles to some stackable dainty brass bracelets. I hope you will enjoy the small yet impactful collection as much as I do- you know your wardrobe needs something exotic
